A HISTORY OF LINDEN-SHORTS CME CHURCH

Prayer, commitment, and sacrifice are terms that describe the challenge undertaken by those dedicated small group of Christians when they met in 1905 to organize Holsey Chapel was brought into Georgia Conference.
It was during this time that the name of the church was changed to Linden Institutional CME Church. The private foundation stated that they would be willing to help only if the church would change the name to indicate that the daycare center would be non-secular and that any child could be enrolled. The church agreed, the name was changed, and the daycare center was completely furnished by the foundation
In June of 2015, Rev. Stephen J. Delaine was assigned to the pastoral leadership of Linden-Shorts. Under his ministry, the Women's Ministry was organized, the second Sunday Prayer, Praise, and Power worship hour was reborn, a community health fair put in motion, and a commitment to a health and wellness partnership was initiated.
